2.1 Configuring card layouts for printed identity documents
You can configure a layout for your printed identity documents using the Card Layouts Editor.
To create a card layout for a printed identity document:
-
In MyID Desktop, from the Configuration category, select Card Layout Editor.
You can also launch this workflow from the Credential Configuration section of the More category in the MyID Operator Client. See the Using Credential Configuration workflows section in the MyID Operator Client guide for details.
-
Click Page Setup.
-
In the Card Dimensions section, set the following:
-
Card Width – the height of the printed identity document in mm.
-
Card Height – the width of the printed identity document in mm.
Note: If you leave these options blank, MyID assumes that the layout is for a smart card, not a printed identity document.
-
-
In the Identity Document Properties section, set the following:
-
Print on Paper Printer – select this option to print on a standard paper printer rather than a card printer.
If you are printing on a standard paper printer, you may need to position the identity document on the paper. To do this, you can set offsets:
-
Horizontal Offset – the offset from the left side of the paper, in mm.
-
Vertical Offset – the offset from the top of the paper, in mm.
-
-
In the Print Identity Document section, set the following:
-
Allow Printing as an Identity Document – select this option.
-
Identity Document Device Type – from the drop-down list, select Printed Identity Document.
-
-
Click Set Page Dimensions.
-
Configure the rest of the card layout as normal.
See the Designing card layouts section of the Administration Guide for more details.
You can create both a front and a back layout to be printed on your paper. For the back of the printed identity document, save the layout with the same name with _back appended.
Note: Both the front and back layouts are printed on the same side of the paper.
When you are configuring the Page Setup for the back of the printed identity document, you must set the Card Dimensions; if required, you can also set the offsets in the Identity Document Properties section. The options in the Print Identity Document section are ignored, as these values are taken from the card layout for the front of the printed identity document.
